Medical student wins Josheph Priestley Essay prize
Final year medical student Ikenna Ibeanusi has won the prestigious annual British Hyperbaric Association Joseph Priestly Essay prize. Ikenna spent several weeks with DDRC Healthcare Hyperbaric Medical Centre last year and gained understanding and knowledge to support his winning essay entitled: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and wound healing: An Omics-based perspective.
The competition was judged by BHA chair Dr Doug Watts and the head of Diving Medicine Royal Navy, Institute of Naval Medicine. The prize was £1000.
The British Hyperbaric Association would like to congratulate Ikenna and wish him the best of luck as he starts work as an F1 doctor this August.
