BHA Annual Scientific Meeting: Student Report

The BHA and Mimir Marine supported 5th year medical student Martyna Jackiewicz to attend the BHA ASM 2024 in Hull.

Here are some of her thoughts:

“As a 5th-year medical student with aspirations to specialise in hyperbaric medicine, attending the BHA Annual Scientific Meeting on “Nitrogen Narcosis and Bubbles” in November 2024 was a truly invaluable experience. The conference offered a varied, informative, and stimulating environment, providing in-depth insights into diving medicine. The presentations were well-structured, blending theoretical knowledge with practical applications, which further solidified my decision to pursue this field. Moreover, the opportunity to engage with professionals already working in hyperbaric medicine was incredibly rewarding. Many were eager to share their experiences and offered to host me in their units for hands-on experience, which I found both encouraging and inspiring. Overall, the event not only enhanced my understanding of the subject but also helped me build valuable connections within the hyperbaric medicine community.”
